JEDCO, Jefferson Chamber to host seminar on leadership management

There are many words used to describe a leader: innovative, visionary, excellent communicator, passionate, confident. The list goes on and on. One of the best qualities that many great leaders have is the ability to unleash the potential in their employees. Leaders inspire results within the workplace and motivate their teams to do their best work.

As part of the Prosper Jefferson seminar series, JEDCO and the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce have teamed up to bring you a seminar on Leadership Management. Three experts will discuss important topics related to leadership in the workplace, including:

MEET OUR SPEAKERS

Brian Phillips: Dale Carnegie Regional Manager

Brian began his career with Dale Carnegie in 1996.  He currently is the Regional Manager for Louisiana and Mississippi. Brian has worked with hundreds of organizations helping them achieve greater performance through developing their people.  His presentation will be on How Leaders Drive Engagement.

Lee Prior: Business Consultant

Lee Pryor has many years of experience as a founder and Chief Executive for start-up and late stage entrepreneurial companies. He began his career with Time Warner. He then moved to IBM in mainframe sales and management. He left to found a computer supply company that grew to 55 sales people, 5 manufacturing plants with over 300 employees and $48 million in sales.

After selling the computer business, he ran five private and public companies for Private Equity and Venture Capital firms. These emerging and late-stage companies were in a variety of industries including e-commerce, Internet database publishing and marketing, online on demand printing, computer supplies distribution, and technology contract manufacturing. In addition, he has served as a consultant to several World War II Museums and is an advisor-at-large to a number of emerging technology companies.

Lee is the author of “The Savvy Entrepreneur”, an Insider’s Secrets to Managing for Success. He has been an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business, a business executive coach for emerging and developing enterprises, and a speaker on the topic of entrepreneurship at venture capital conferences, association meetings and business schools.

Warren Murrell: Peoples Health President & COO

As president and chief operating officer for Peoples Health, Warren Murrell oversees project management and daily operations. Reporting to the CEO, Carol Solomon, Warren directs and implements innovative strategies designed to optimize health outcomes for the company’s Medicare Advantage plan members while also fostering continued company growth. He represents Peoples Health locally, statewide, and nationally with regulatory and government agencies.

Warren has been a key participant in developing the strategic plan for the future and continued growth of Peoples Health as the company continues to implement its model of care. He is helping the company establish its overall model for all health plans is offers while endeavoring to improve health outcomes for all participating plan members.

Warren brings more than 22 years of healthcare experience to this role, 15 of which have been with Peoples Health. Prior to joining Peoples Health in 2000, he developed his healthcare expertise at Memorial Sisters of Charity Health Network and Prudential Healthcare, both in Houston, Texas.
