JEDCO, Jefferson Chamber to host Prosper Jefferson seminar on hiring & firing

Your employees play a major role in the success of your business. It’s important to find the right people for the job and to develop an effective strategy to keep them happy and engaged. Additionally, you need to know how to deal with underperforming employees whether that means having a conversation to enhance their performance or making room for someone who can better fill that role within your business.

The Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission & the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce have teamed up to help you navigate the hiring and firing process. In this month’s installment of Prosper Jefferson, three experts will cover a variety of issues related to Human Resources, including:

  • Achieving effective employee relations
  • Hiring productive and cooperative employees
  • Positive approach to discipline
  • Progressive Discipline defined
  • Employee coaching/counseling
  • Verbal warning
  • Written warning
  • Final written warning/suspension
  • Reducing legal exposure

Join us Wednesday, October 26th, at the JEDCO Conference Center (701A Churchill Parkway, Avondale, LA 70094) from 9:00 – 10:30 AM. Admission is free, but registration is encouraged to attend. The event is open to all businesses and entrepreneurs. Register online at www.jedco.org/events.
