The Honorable Steve J. Theriot
I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the citizens of Jefferson Parish. I look forward to continue to contribute to the many programs and policies that are steadily improving the parish now and for the future.
As the Louisiana's Legislative Auditor for 5.5 years, I served as the watchdog of public spending, overseeing more than 3,500 audits of state and local governments and their related quasi-public enterprises.
I received an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering from Delgado Community College and a Bachelor of Commercial Science degree from Loyola University. Later became a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants, and the Institute of Management Accountants.
I am a sole proprietor of an accounting practice since 1974. Served on numerous boards and committees such as the Jefferson Parish Home Mortgage Authority, Jefferson Parish School Board and was a member of the West Jefferson Medical Center Board of Directors for five years and was selected to serve as Chairman of medical center from 2002 to 2004.
From 1988 to 1996 served as a Louisiana State Representative for the 84th House District. As a member of the House of Representatives, was Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee and the Fiscal Affairs and Governmental Operations Committee of the Southern Legislative Conference.
As your Parish President, I look at this opportunity to contribute positively to Jefferson Parish Government to make our community a better parish for families, businesses and investors.

Cynthia comes to the Jefferson Parish Council with a strong background in fraud prevention and forensic accounting, as well as, 10 years of service as a federal officer with the Department of Justice. Her unique skill set makes her well equipped to handle the business of the Parish.
Cynthia Lee-Sheng was born and raised in District 5 and attended St. Angela Merici Grammar School and Mount Carmel Academy for High School. After graduating from Loyola University, she moved to Washington D.C. where she received her Master's Degree in Public Administration from George Washington University. Aside from using her business skills as a forensic CPA to ensure that tax dollars are well spent and put to the best use possible, Councilwoman Lee-Sheng works tirelessly to make sure Jefferson Parish continues to be an economic engine for this region by attracting new families and businesses. Her grandfather was one of the very first business owners in the district, establishing the House of Lee Restaurant in 1957 on Veterans and Causeway Boulevard.
