JEDCO welcomes new tenant to the Business Innovation Center

Crescent Unmanned Systems, LLC, has become the 5th tenant in JEDCO's Business Innovation Center located within the Churchill Technology & Business Park. Crescent manufactures and markets specialized, small unmanned aerial systems with advanced surveillance capabilities for law enforcement, military, and commercial applications.

Louisiana’s agreement with Huntington Ingalls helps to secure the future of Avondale

On Tuesday, October 18, 2011, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal and Huntington Ingalls Industries’ President and CEO Mike Petters announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) designed to preserve operations at the Huntingtion Ingalls site in Avondale.

Freshy Foods to bring 200 jobs to Jefferson Parish

“Freshy Foods”, a new USDA fresh food manufacturing facility, will announce its official launch at Noon on Monday, October 10, 2011 at the Freshy Foods Plant, 508 Timesaver Blvd. in Elmwood. Jefferson Parish President John Young, leaders of the Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission (JEDCO), Jefferson Parish Councilmembers Chris Roberts, Elton Lagasse, Mike Thomas and the Jefferson Parish Chamber of Commerce will be among the special guests.

Jerry Bologna, JEDCO, Receives New Economic Development Professional Award

Jerry Bologna, Deputy Director of Economic Development Services at the Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission (JEDCO) was awarded with the Outstanding New Economic Developer of the Year Award by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) for his noteworthy emergence as a new force in the field. The honor was presented at an awards ceremony on Monday, September 19 during the IEDC Annual Conference, September 18-21 in Charlotte, NC.
