JEDCO Approved $380,000 in Louisiana Revolving Capital Funds

The Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission (JEDCO) recently established the Louisiana Revolving Capital Fund (LRCF), a lending program that supplies qualifying businesses with a minimum of $25,000 for the acquisition of land and buildings, the purchase of equipment or working capital and inventory.  The LRCF supports small business growth and promotes economic development in the community.

Partnerships with Federal, State And Local Governments Lead to Economic Development and Expansion

Jefferson Parish continued to lead the state in economic viability and population in 2009. Since Katrina, more than 7,208 new businesses have been added to the business base, totaling over 37,000 currently operating in the parish. This strong growth has enabled Jefferson to achieve an exceptional Aa1 Moody's Bond Rating.

Jefferson Expecting Another Round of Moderate to Heavy Rain

According to the 2:30 p.m. National Weather Service report, a Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for Jefferson Parish through late tonight. A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding.
