Presenters: Thomas J. Grace, Esq. and Judge Gerald H. Schiff
Tom Grace has 15 years representing the largest mediation firm in the South. He is a mediation instructor for Loyola Law School. Prior to specializing in mediation, Mr. Grace was a practicing maritime defense lawyer, a magistrate judge, and General Counsel for a public company. He has conducted over 1,000 mediations with 90% settling within one day.
Judge Schiff recently retired from the bench after serving 14 years as a bankruptcy judge for Louisiana 's Western District. As a sitting judge, because of his unique mediation skills, he was recruited by other bankruptcy judges to mediate issues within their bankruptcy cases. Since leaving the bench, he has practiced commercial law and mediation of both bankruptcy and non-bankruptcy commercial issues .
