Jefferson Parish Permit Fees Waived

Jefferson Parish President Aaron Broussard announced today that the Jefferson Parish Department of Inspection and Code Enforcement will waive permit fees for repairs to structures damaged by Hurricane Gustav through February 28, 2009. A permit is still required for repairs but there will be no charge. Permit fees will not be waived for new construction and/or renovations.
In addition, the parish is not requiring permits for repair or replacement of existing fences as long as the replacement fence is rebuilt in the exact location of the fence that was damaged, and there are no changes to type and/or height of the fence, and the replacement fence otherwise meets all code requirements for fences.
