Louisiana Department of Social Services Food Stamp Benefits

The Louisiana Department of Social Services will issue food stamps beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at the Alario Center, 2000 Segnette Boulevard in Westwego from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. to qualified applicants.
Due to the overwhelming response of would-be applicants at the Johnny Jacobs Playground today, the site was changed to the Alario Center. This site will be more convenient to the public. This site will allow applicants to be seated in an air conditioned facility throughout the application process.
To keep order at this site, the Jefferson Parish Sheriffs Office will be patrolling the area around the Alario Center tonight and will not allow anyone to form a line until 7 a.m. tomorrow.
