Vote on Public Transportation System

On Saturday April 4, 2009, Jefferson Parish voters will decide whether to renew the property tax millages that fund the Jefferson Transit (JeT) fixed route bus service and the Mobility Impaired Transit Service (MITS) for physically disadvantaged and elderly residents. This is not a new tax or a tax increase, but a renewal of the two-mill property tax for JeT and one-mill for MITS approved by voters 10 years ago.
