Summer Issue of Jefferson Life Now on Newsstands

25 June 2009

Jefferson Life, a new magazine devoted to life, politics and entertainment in Jefferson Parish debuts this week. The 40-page, color magazine can be found at more than 100 locations throughout the parish, including coffee houses, restaurants and grocery stores.

The Summer issue hit the newsstands June 19, highlighting public art and beautification efforts in Jefferson. In-depth articles on Jefferson's Cops and Clergy Coalition and the area's state parks are also included, along with a feature on Louisiana Chef, Paul Prudhomme.

jefflife.jpg"While general print publications are on the decline, research shows that niche publications such as Jefferson Life are on the upswing," said publisher Joanne Gallinghouse. "This is the only publication devoted to issues concerning residents and business owners of Jefferson Parish."

The magazine also has an online component, http://www.jefflife.com/. In addition to featuring updates to the quarterly magazine, the interactive site will have online polls, contests and blogs.

The current issue has a Best of Jeff ballot where readers can vote for some of their favorite things in seven categories, including people, restaurants and bars, shopping venues, sports and recreational opportunities and services. Deadline for votes is July 15 and winners of each category will be announced in the Fall issue.
