Jefferson Parish Boil Water Advisory Update

In conjunction with the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, Jefferson Parish Water Department issued a Boil Water Advisory for the West Bank of Jefferson Parish on December 13, 2009. This was done as a precautionary measure due to loss of water pressure at the West Bank Water Plant.
This BOIL WATER ADVISORY will remain in effect until rescinded by Jefferson Parish Water Department or the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals. Bacteriological samples must be collected and analyzed from the distribution system to assure the water meets potable water standards.
Water quality testing has begun and the results are expected to be completed on Monday, December 14, 2009. The media will be advised when the advisory is lifted.
