The deadline for businesses to request the second half of Business Recovery Grant award funding is Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007.
NOTE: NO APPLICATIONS ARE CURRENTLY BEING ACCEPTED FOR GRANTS OR LOANS
The Office of Community Development has begun to reauthorize payments for grants and loans as files are reviewed and cleared. The completed Disbursement Request Form, including proof funding use and complete LMI forms, must be post-marked or delivered by that date to the intermediary who issued the first check. Intermediaries working with Louisiana Economic Development (LED) officials received more than 5,000 applications for Louisiana Business Recovery Grants, along with more than 1,000 loan applications to date. Grant award letters were mailed beginning on Friday, March 30, to the more than 3,400 business owners approved for the initial phase of the Business Recovery Grant and Loan Program, administered by Louisiana Economic Development.

Loans
There are currently more applications than available funding for loans. However, businesses may still apply if they wish to be considered for potential future loans, if funding becomes available. Eligible businesses must apply in person. Applications sent by mail or email will NOT be accepted.

Businesses should review the Eligibility Checklist and corresponding Zone Maps to determine if they qualify for Business Recovery Loans. Businesses that meet those initial qualifications should review and complete the documents outlined in the Loan section.
