JEDCO & Jefferson Chamber host emergency preparedness seminar

(Fairfield, LA) – Is your business prepared in the event of a disaster? Do you have a contingency plan to respond to and recover from an emergency? In advance of hurricane season, the Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission (JEDCO) and the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce teamed up to bring you “Emergency Preparedness for Your Business,” a Prosper Jefferson seminar developed to ensure your business is ready for the unexpected.

The Jefferson Parish Emergency Management Department, JEDCO, and Chris Nuebel with the Southeast Louisiana Chapter of the American Red Cross will present attendees with a list of tools, information, and resources to ensure quick recovery and business continuity in the face of a crisis. In this seminar, you will learn about:

  • Creating a disaster recovery and continuity strategy for your business
  • Tools to help your business prepare for a disaster
  • Disaster alert information
  • Jefferson Parish re-entry placards and how to register for re-entry status after an evacuation
  • Recovery assistance for businesses

Join us Wednesday, May 27th, at the JEDCO Conference Center (701A Churchill Parkway, Avondale, LA 70094) from 9:00-10:30. Admission is free, but registration is required to attend. About Chris Nuebel: Chris  has joined the American Red Cross – Southeast Louisiana Chapter as Major Gifts Officer in charge of corporate partnerships and fundraising. Chris works with companies in the New Orleans, Northshore, Houma and Acadiana areas to ensure they are prepared for disasters, engaged in volunteerism and successful in community outreach. Following a successful LSU education in non-profit administration, Chris worked in hotel and event management. He has combined these previous experiences and a passion for helping people into his new career with the Red Cross.
